![]() Even if you’ve watched the movies I still recommend y’all to read the books. Overall, I enjoyed reading this series so much. The book also centers around eighteen-year-old Coriolanus Snow, the leader of Panem on the first three books. Suzanne’s writing and characterization are on point!Ī fourth book from the Hunger Games trilogy is coming out this May! Ballad of the Songbirds and Snakes is coming out this May 19th and I can’t wait to read it! That’s another reason for you to read this series! The only thing we know about the 4 th book is that it’s a prequel for the series and is set the morning of the reaping that will kick off the tenth annual Hunger Games. She’s a girl with amazing hunting and survival skills which makes her chances of winning so high.Ī few notable characters on this book include Peeta, Finnick, Rue, and Mags, I wouldn’t be saying much about them on this post, but I wanted to emphasize that this book will make you bawl your eyes out. I love how Katniss is a girl full of passion and care for her sister Prim, to the point that she’ll do everything just to protect her. Everything’s good until her sister Prim became chosen as a tribute, which led to Katniss volunteering for her sister. Katniss is a sixteen-year-old girl living with her mother and sister in district 12. I love a LOT of characters here, there’s a whole lot of characters worth mentioning but I’m focusing on Katniss Everdeen since she’s the protagonist on this whole series. This book tackles great lessons about life, government, and society. In this case, this book focuses on the influence and power of the Capitol towards the districts, it isn’t only until book 3 wherein the districts finally fightback from the arms of the Capitol. This book centers around an imagined world or society in which people lead wretched, dehumanized, and fearful lives. Just like any dystopian novels out there, Hunger Games also tackles the dark side of government. If you like a book which is thrilling and will make you root for the characters then this book is for you! Hunger Games is somewhat like a western version of those shows that I mentioned. I’m a huge fan of that trope on the horror genre, that’s why the plot of Hunger Games hooked me right from the start. Okay, what do they all have in common? Each involves characters who need to battle out others for survival/ winning the game. A few of my most favorite animes are Future Diary, Danganronpa, and Battle Royale. Just a short story about me, I’ve been through a phase of watching anime and reading mangas, I don’t watch anime anymore tho but I don’t despise it either. But it doesn’t affect my reading experience because both books are so good! I watched Hunger Games and Catching Fire before reading the book. If you want the complete package, you should read the books first and then move on to the movie. The movies are fantastic, but for me, the books are still the best. I love how the Hunger Games universe magically turned into life by those movies. ![]() I can’t deny, the movie adaptations for this series are so good. But if you’re still not convinced after that, here are a few reasons why you should read the trilogy. The straight answer is DEFINITELY YES, IT’S WORTH IT. ![]() This post is for those people who are still having hesitations whether Hunger Games is worth of time. The Capitol has been harsh and cruel with all the districts, forcing them to send one boy and girl from ages twelve to eighteen, on the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Each district has its aspect of community on which they focus on, and the one who controls and administers everyone is the Capitol. ![]() The Hunger Games universe is set in a place called Panem where the people are separated into 12 communities which they called districts. You’re not living under the rock, it’s completely understandable. Of course, there are people out there who still haven’t read the books or at least watched one of the movies. I managed to finish the series in 8 days.Īs we all know, the Hunger Games trilogy has been WIDELY popular ever since it got released, even the movies based on the books are all blockbuster hits! I don’t know if there are still people out there who haven’t heard about Hunger Games… okay, I’m exaggerating. Everything’s good until I get to the third book which took me so much time to finish. I’m kind of confident since we’re all stuck in quarantine, but guess what? I failed the challenge lmao. If you guys didn’t know, I did a Hunger Games readathon exactly 1 month ago (April 5) I tried to challenge myself if I can read the whole Trilogy within 5 days. Hello! Welcome back for another blog post!
